Taita Mariano Tisoy

Belonging to the Inga lineage of the Putumayo territory of Colombia, his parents, Josefa Mujanajinsoy Quinchoa and Mariano Tisoy Chasoy, instilled in him from a young age the knowledge and respect for plants and nature. He also received knowledge from his father-in-law, from whom he learned about the use of the sacred yagé plant and many other sacred plants of the territory, such as nettle and chichaja. His charisma and love for his customs, along with his loyalty and honor for his territory, have led him to a distinguished career in leadership within the Inga community council, which can be detailed as follows: 2004 (Junior Constable of the Inga community), 2006 (Senior Constable of the Inga community), 2010 (Junior Mayor of the Inga Indigenous Council of Santiago, Putumayo), and 2016 (Governor as a traditional authority). Year 2023 (Re-elected Governor as traditional authority). Also noteworthy is Taita Mariano’s participation as a guide, facilitator, and disseminator of knowledge about the ancestral medicine of Yagé in institutions and organizations of various social natures, such as: the Universities of Bucaramanga, Cartagena, and Nariño; the Mariana University of Pasto; the National Organization of Indigenous Peoples of Colombia (ONIC) as a Knowledgeable Expert of the Macro-Amazon Region (currently); and Coordinator of the Life Plan Education Program of the Inga Indigenous Council of Santiago, Putumayo (currently). He also provided support and guidance for three years at the educational institution as a knowledgeable expert on the educational program.

Perteneciente al linaje Inga del territorio de Putumayo Colombia, sus padres JOSEFA MUJANAJINSOY QUINCHOA Y MARIANO TISOY CHASOY le transmitieron desde pequeño el conocimiento y el respeto por las plantas y la naturaleza, igualmente de parte de su suegro de quien recibió conocimiento para el uso de la planta sagrada del yage y multiples plantas sagradas del territorio como la ortiga, chichaja, etc, su carisma y amor por sus costumbres, la lealtad y el honor por su territorio le conceden una gran trayectoria en el liderazgo del cabildo del pueblo Inga,la cual se puede detallar de la siguiente forma: Año 2004 ( Alguacil menor de la comunidad pueblo Inga ).Año 2006 ( Alguacil mayor de la comunidad pueblo Inga ). Año 2010 ( Alcalde menor en el cabildo indígena Inga Santiago Putumayo ) . Año 2016 ( Gobernador como autoridad tradicional ). Año 2023 ( Re-elegido Gobernador como autoridad tradicional ). De igual manera destaca la participacion de Taita Mariano como guía, facilitador y multiplicador del conocimiento de la medicina ancestral del Yagé en instituciones y organizaciones de diferentes índoles sociales como: Universidad de Bucaramanga, Cartagena , Nariño, Universidad Mariana de Pasto, Organización Nacional de los Pueblos Indígenas de Colombia (ONIC) como SABEDOR DE MACRO AMAZONIA ( en la actualidad ), CORDINADOR DEL PROGRAMA DE EDUCACION DE PLAN DE VIDA DEL CABILDO INDIGENA INGA SANTIAGO PUTUMAYO ( en la actualidad ). Apoyo y acompañamiento durante 3 años en la institucion educativa como sabedor de la canasta educativa.
